Decision from the DOL regarding the complaint from Charles Coleman, Joshua Taborn and Tawan Patrick

The Department of Labor Investigator has advised the Local of the following regarding the complaint from Charles Coleman, Joshua Taborn and Tawan Patrick:

"Your complaint to the Department of Labor protesting the internal decision to rerun the original December 30, 2020 election of officers in Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 2252 in Oakton, Virginia has been investigated pursuant to Sections 402 and 601 of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959.Following a review of the investigative findings by this office and the Office of the Solicitor, Division for Civil Rights and Labor-Management, a decision has been made that those findings do not provide a basis for the Department to halt the internal rerun.

A statement of reasons setting forth the basis for this decision will be mailed to you at a future date."

We are pleased that not only has the District vindicated the Local and the Election Committee but the Department of Labor has as well. This issue will finally be put to rest and the Local can conduct a fair and equitable rerun election. As soon as we receive additional information from the Election Committee regarding a new timeline we will share it with the membership. Please see the attchment below.
We appreciate everyone's patience as we awaited the decision from both the District and the DOL.

In Solidarity,

Cindy Thayer
President CWA 2252
